Stretch of the Month: Vision Exercise

Rest Exercises

This isn't probably what you'd traditionally think of a "stretch" but rest exercises are an important stretch for your eyes and will aid in improving your vision over time. This is a page straight out of the new Vision Symphony book - a little sneak peek for my friends!

Rest Exercises for Your Eyes

You can do these exercises to help rest your eyes throughout your day.

  • Make Eye Pillows with your palms by resting your head forward and closing your eyes. Let your palms cover the eyes softly without pressing. The fingers are relaxed on your hairline above your forehead.
  • Take a 5 second break every 15 minutes or so if you are doing computer work or watching TV allow your eyes to reach out in to your farthest focus.
  • Blink rapidly for 5 seconds. Rest, then repeat. This helps bathe the eyes in their natural lubricant and cleans out any particles.

New Years Resolution: change the world for the better!
Recently a friend sent me a link to the website www.29Gifts.org. This is a global giving movement with several thousand members in 38 countries. Their collective mission is to revive the giving spirit in the world. Changing lives—and changing the world—one gift at a time.

Give one thing away each day for 29 days. Why? Because to see your world change, you have to DO something to change your world. One small way to do that is by giving a gift every day. This can be as simple as loaning a book to a friend, smiling at the person who filled your gas tank, giving your coffee barista a compliment, or your neighbor a tray of cookies. Try it out! It WILL change your life!!
